Highland Ranch Under New Management

George's daughter Caroline returns from Ukiah to live at Highland Ranch along with new Ranch Manager, Joy Andrews.  Caroline has long been an active part of The Ranch and we look forward to her return.  Joy grew up at and her family still owns Los Lagos Equestrian Center  in Granite Bay, CA and has over a many hours of equine jumping experience.  Most recently she was running The Inn and Spa at Parkside in downtown Sacramento for the last 3 years while the owners lived in Hawaii.  She will be living at Highland as Ranch and Kitchen Manager, adding lots of love to your home-cooked meals!

Rosebud From Disney's Airbuddies Visits Highland Sat/Sun

The cute Golden Retreiver who played the lead puppy with the pink bow in "Disney's Airbuddies"(click here to watch a 3 minute movie clip) is visiting Highland Ranch with her owners Gene and Carrie Orcutt, parents of Highland Ranch's new manager, Joy Andrews.  The breeder owned her during filming, but when Joy's parents finally got her from the breeder, she still had extra black make-up on her cute little nose.  Now age 4, she is very well suited to the name of "Rocket" , named by Joy.  She will be staying at Highland Ranch this Saturday and Sunday and would love visitors and free pictures to be taken with her!  Also, stay tuned for her return in Spring 2010.

Highland Ranch Horses Voted Happiest Ever!

A guest visiting Highland Ranch in September commented that in all her travels to ranches around the world, our horses are the best cared for, most well-behaved, and all around happiest of any place she had been.  One of Highland Ranch's longest visiting guests, Connie, also has noticed within the last couple years that instead of having the trouble of hoping one favorite horse is available for her ride of the day, now she has trouble choosing WHICH of her favorites to ride today.  Many thanks to our barn team for all their hard work and love of our horses, it wouldn't have been possible without you.  Come visit the horses and see how their winter coats are coming in!
